How to delete a part from the Local Part Database in CIS Explorer?

Capture CIS 16.6 in Windows 7. On the project manager window, I right-click on the design and select "Part Manager" from the pop-up menu. On the Part Manger window I double-click on a part (a resistor) to open the CIS Explorer window.

Now I derive a new database part. The "New Database Part" dialog prohibits me from assigning a part number; okay, whatever. I click on the "Link Part" button.

Now the $1,000,000 question: how do I delete this TMP-XX part from the local part database? For example, the part is obsolete, I want to ensure it cannot be selected in future projects, and therefore I want to delete it from the local parts database. How is that done?

Or for that matter, how do I edit a part in the local part database--e.g., change its "Part Number" property, or change the Distributor field, etc.?
